Zonewide Activities
In 2025, the SSSIO of Zone 8 implemented a wide range of educational, spiritual, environmental, and service initiatives across Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine, uniting thousands of participants.
In March, the 23rd Zonal Education Conference was held online with 248 delegates, dedicated to the 100th Birthday anniversary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Under the theme 'Sathya Sai Education is a favorable environment for cultivating noble character,' participants shared experiences in Sai Spiritual Education (SSE), family camps, and outreach programs, and explored how Baba's teachings can be integrated into work. Workshops, reports, and inspiring videos highlighted the Education Wing's activities. The event concluded with a universal prayer and gratitude to Swami.
In mid-March, nearly 100 volunteers lovingly served meals to more than 850 people over two days, while also caring for birds and stray animals. Later in the year, more than 90 participants from 34 Sai Centers and Groups prepared and distributed 693 hot meals, along with clothing for the needy. They also served animals in shelters, parks, and forests.
Environmental initiatives flourished throughout the year. In April and May, SSSIO members planted over 1,700 trees and about 250 shrubs across Zone 8 countries.
The 'Active Summer 2025' project, launched in early June, engaged more than 330 people from 48 cities in service initiatives such as cleaning forests, parks, and riversides, planting trees and flowers, feeding the needy, and caring for animals. Zonal Cleanliness Day in late June gathered 231 participants from 37 cities for environmental services.
In mid-July, more than 220 people joined the Zonal 'Nature Trip,' combining cleanup efforts, Sai Olympics, quizzes, free medical care, and fellowship. In August, over 160 participants from around 40 cities continued this service through clean-ups and tending gardens. Teleconferences and web meetings were also held.
Spiritual outreach and study were strengthened through public meetings and seminars. In April, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan hosted gatherings focused on the Gayatri Mantra, meditation, bhajans, and shared spiritual practice. The ESSE Institute conducted seminars on 'The Life and Teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba,' 'Leadership Skills,' and 'Selfless Service,' with over 111 participants. In October, 46 people from six countries joined a two-day online seminar on leadership and public speaking.
Camps and regional gatherings nurtured character and unity. A volunteer camp in the Northwest region brought together 32 volunteers for construction, healthcare, social assistance, children's education, and spiritual activities. In July, the Southern Region held a Zonal Children's and Family Methodological Camp at the Black Sea, focusing on 'Ceiling on Desires' and human values through workshops, eco-quests, Sai Olympics, and other programs.
The year culminated in the Zone 8 SSSIO Conference, which gathered 364 participants in person and online. With inspiring speeches, reports, nationwide round tables on the theme 'Forbearance,' youth leadership, cultural performances, and tributes, the conference reflected devotion, service, and learning. Participants left with the resolution to continue Bhagawan's mission with renewed love, discipline, and joy.
Azerbaijan
At the end of July 2025, the SSSIO held a traditional summer camp in the picturesque city of Qusar City in Azerbaijan. The theme of the camp was 'A pure heart creates a happy life.' The event brought together 203 people, including Young Adults, the public, and children. Teamwork and inspiration set the tone for the entire camp. Lectures were given by renowned educators, scientists, and specialists on the inner world of man, the role of the heart in raising children, and spirituality. Children learned about kindness, friendship, and mutual assistance through games, discussions, and creative activities, thus creating a space for friendship, creativity, and unity.
Belarus
In early August 2025, the SSSIO of Belarus hosted a three-day family camp after a five-year break, welcoming 10 SSSIO members, 5 children, and 4 guests from four cities. Dedicated to the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the camp focused on the purity of speech and the power of loving words. Volunteers prepared the venue in advance, and the organizers developed lesson plans, workshops, SSEHV classes, creative sessions, a nature quiz titled 'Green Pharmacy,' and the much-anticipated Sai Olympic. A special highlight was the creation of a mandala with colored stones and sand during the chanting of the Gayatri mantra, symbolizing love, truth, peace, and nonviolence. Evenings around the campfire with storytelling and meditative music deepened the spirit of unity. The camp offered a warm space for learning, connection, and joyful spiritual practices.
At the end of September 2025, 16 delegates from five cities gathered for the National Seminar on Sathya Sai Education in Belarus under the theme 'The transformation of human nature into divine nature is the goal of education.' Participants shared SSE experiences, Baba's teachings, and explored themes such as developing a child's spiritual intellect and realizing oneself as love. A group activity on active listening demonstrated how this practice opens hearts in all.
In the first half of October 2025, the SSSIO of Belarus participated in the Zone 8 narayana seva with 12 participants from four cities, including three who were not SSSIO members. Volunteers lovingly distributed vegetable pizza, desserts, soup, and groceries to the needy on the streets, at temples, in a canteen, and in a village. A long-term beneficiary in a wheelchair received several days' worth of home-cooked food and a grocery package. In total, 22 servings of food and two grocery bags were distributed.
Kazakhstan
At the end of January 2025, SSEHV classes were held for 20 community children at the Children's Support Center. In addition, their families were supported with food packages, extending care beyond the classroom. Similar services were offered by Sai devotees throughout the year.
In the third week of January 2025, members of the Sathya Sai Center organized SSEHV classes for children from large and low-income families living in barracks. A cultural visit to the children's drama theater was also organized, where they watched a fairy tale about the triumphant power of love that can overcome any troubles and obstacles. Following the performance, the children were given sweets and New Year's gifts, filling them with joy.
In the spring, as part of the Clean Planet zonal project, SSEHV lessons were held in two cities in Kazakhstan on love for the native land, nature, and people. Older children talked about the customs of Kazakhstan and made a 'tree of wishes,' depicting a tall tree with leaves and fruits of good wishes for everyone on Earth, including neighbors, acquaintances, and friends. In another group, children heard a story about good deeds and created drawings showing love and kindness for animals and nature. Then they went together to feed the birds.
Kyrgyzstan
In 2025, SSSIO members in Kyrgyzstan implemented a series of spiritual and service initiatives marked by unity, reverence, and love. In late June, the Sri Sathya Sai Group of Kyrgyzstan participated in the zonal 'Purity Day.' Despite the hot summer weather, three volunteers cleaned home yards and streets early in the morning and later shared a report during a virtual meeting.
In October, five SSSIO members lovingly served the needy at a city shelter for homeless individuals. They distributed clothing and served three types of pilaf with vegetables, mushrooms, chickpeas, fresh salads, biscuits, assorted chocolates, and caramel candies. The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the homemade food, lovingly distributed.
In early November, the Alaya group organized a public round-table dialogue in a school titled 'What Do Spiritual Teachings Give Us?' The gathering created a sacred space for reflection and unity, bringing together seekers from different faiths in an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect. Participants explored universal spiritual questions and proposed future gatherings. The meeting was recorded and shared online. Offered with love on the Lord's 100th Birthday anniversary, the initiative was a reminder that sincere dialogue nurtures unity, understanding, and spiritual awakening.
Moldova
On June 1, 2025, Children's Day, 14 members of the SSSIO of Moldova, including 6 children, took part in the 'Active Summer 2025' project by spending the day in a forested park. The event was part of the Clean Planet festival in Zone 8 and started with garbage collection, with the children eagerly joining in. The day included fun and educational activities. Younger children (ages 5–8) learned to distinguish between good and bad, created drawings, and watched a short video about a fly and a bee. Older children (ages 11–12) discussed time and energy, learning about the 'Gods of Time' in different cultures and how to manage time wisely, especially during the holidays. Adults listened to a short lecture on the importance of breathing and tried pranayama (breathing) exercises. The day was filled with joy, and everyone left feeling refreshed, looking forward to future events.
Russia
In early 2025, the European Sathya Sai Education (ESSE) Institute Campus of Zone 8 conducted a series of educational programs across Russia, strengthening both organizational leadership and spiritual growth within the SSSIO. In January and February, participants from the Caucasus region of Russia and Azerbaijan attended an online self-awareness seminar over four weekends. Led by 11 instructors and attended by eight participants, the seminar featured mini-lectures, group activities, and discussions rooted in Sai's teachings. In March, the course was attended by 15 SSSIO members under the guidance of six experienced trainers, who explored Vedic techniques for spiritual purification grounded in the teachings of Baba.
In February, the Southern Department hosted an online Leadership Seminar to train SSSIO leaders. The program brought together 48 participants from 15 centers across 16 cities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. Carefully prepared and highly interactive, the seminar combined lectures with five workshops, emphasizing teamwork, material development, and constructive feedback; both on organizational responsibilities and personal spiritual transformation. Participants described the experience as deeply inspiring, noting a clearer understanding of Sai's teachings and their responsibilities within the Organization.
In early March, the 13th Regional Education Conference was held in the Siberian region, drawing 25 SSSIO members from six cities. Education Wing coordinators shared their centers' achievements, including ongoing SSE and SSEHV classes for children of various age groups. Children and parents engaged in meaningful service activities such as feeding the needy, caring for birds, and cleaning public spaces. Teachers also highlighted their work with children with disabilities and introduced human values classes in kindergartens and schools. A new outreach initiative was launched at a rehabilitation center to nurture love and inner transformation in children.
At the 8th Education Conference in the Ural region in March 2025, 17 participants reflected on how patience, love, and understanding are essential in nurturing children's growth. A highlight was the inspiring talk by Mr. Rais from the Volga-Ural region, who emphasized the importance of seeing God in every child and nurturing their inner goodness. Participants engaged in physical activities, round-table discussions, and shared personal childhood stories.
In April 2025, a series of meetings was organized across 34 cities in Russia, drawing more than 300 people, including many newcomers and Young Adults. The events were held in devotees' homes, libraries, and clubs to discuss the spiritual teachings and life of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and to encourage the participants to share these messages. Through bhajan singing and discussions on karma, selflessness, good character, love, spiritual health, and personal anecdotes, participants deepened their connection with the divine. Some meetings concluded with tea and the distribution of Swami's books, and many guests wanted to learn more. In the Northwest and Ural regions, the volunteers also visited horse stables, helping with chores and sharing uplifting messages and tokens of love.
In early June 2025, the 14th Regional Education Conference of the Southern Region of Russia was held in person and online as an offering of love for Swami's 100th Birthday anniversary. Themed 'Sathya Sai Education is a favorable environment for developing a noble character,' it united 35 devotees from 12 Sai Centers and Groups across Russia and Kazakhstan. Participants shared experiences of integrating human values into children's activities, schools, and workplaces, and played board games.
The program featured creative reviews, roundtable discussions on personal transformation, interactive workshops, and inspiring stories of volunteering and service. After bhajans, prayers, songs, and joyful dances, the event concluded with a prayer for guidance, unity, and spiritual growth.
In mid-September 2025, the 23rd Regional Conference of the Southern Region of Russia marked the centenary celebrations of the advent of Bhagawan Baba. Fifty-five SSSIO members and four children from 22 cities participated in person and online under the theme 'God is Love.' The program included reports from all SSSIO centers and organizational wings, annual reports, experience-sharing, bhajans, and an online cultural program.
Emphasis was placed on strengthening the study of Baba's life, spiritual practices, service, and documentation of memoirs. A rainbow appearing at the end of the concert was seen as a divine blessing.
In early October 2025, the 17th Conference of the Ural Region of the SSSIO of Russia was held in a hybrid format under the theme 'God is Love.' About 40 participants from the Ural region, other parts of Russia, and Azerbaijan gathered in a spirit of unity and fellowship. The conference was blessed by the Akhanda Gayatri International Program and featured inspiring presentations, round-table discussions, 'Sai Cafes,' awards for the 'Active Summer 2025' zonal competition, and a devotional cultural program. Morning and evening bhajans enriched the two-day event, which concluded with heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
In early July, members of the Central region gathered for a Volunteer Service Camp and Family Eco-Camp, combining selfless service, bhajans, cultural celebrations, and a joyful Guru Poornima observance.
In the second half of July, the Siberian region hosted a Children's Regional Festival under Active Summer 2025, bringing together 29 people, including 10 children, for bhajans, creative workshops, games, the Sai Olympic, and a quest based on the five human values. The 16th Summer Family Camp in the Ural region gathered 42 participants for five days of spiritual learning on the 'Elements of the Universe.' It featured selfless service, chanting Om, storytelling, Holi celebrations, and a concluding hike emphasizing love as the 'sixth element.'
Service to nature continued throughout the year. At the end of June, volunteers from four Sai Centers served at the Centauric Equestrian Club in the Leningrad region, caring for animals, repairing facilities, and sharing fellowship. At the end of July, participants in the Siberian region celebrated Zonal Purity Day through environmental services, planting trees, cleaning forests and riverbanks, and collecting numerous bags of garbage.
Additional efforts included cleaning dachas and Sai Centers, feeding the needy, and tending gardens. The Clean Planet project shone especially in autumn, as SSSIO members and children cleaned forests and parks, planted conifer trees, nurtured acorns, fed birds and squirrels, collected clothes for those in need, and even offered free dental care and hygiene education to villagers. In mid-November, families in the Volga-Ural region joyfully filled bird feeders and cleaned forests.
At the International Cultural Center for Spiritual Unity, Universal Temple, SSSIO members maintained a sacred space honoring Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, enriched with portraits, quotes, bhajans, the sound of Gayatri chanting, and darshan videos, touching countless hearts.
In August, during Moscow's 'Days of India' Festival, about 40 SSSIO volunteers set up two tents dedicated to Baba. Through discussions, bhajans, Vedic chanting, cultural programs, workshops for children, and conversations with parents about the five human values, they shared information with approximately 2,000 visitors, including more than 170 children.
Ukraine
In early November, two SSSIO members organized 'Peace Chants' for 28 members of the public, including 11 children, as part of the city's festival. The chants brought together the hands, hearts, and kind thoughts, words, and deeds of adults and children, forming a universal spiral. Many festival attendees enthusiastically participated in the chants, creating a stream of joy and love. The smiles on the faces of both adults and children reflected their sunny spirits. The festival also featured a children's art fair, where the daughter of a devotee showcased her crafts.
