Birthday Letter 2017
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are blessed and fortunate to be called and chosen to be part of the sacred and divine mission of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Avatar of our age. The devotees of Baba celebrate His Birthday all over the world on 23rd of November with love, gratitude and joy.
It is important to recollect and remember the assurances Bhagawan has given us in the landmark letter He wrote on 25th May 1947:
- “I have a Task: to foster all mankind and ensure for all of them lives full of Ananda.
- I have a vow: to lead all who stray away from the straight path back again to the path of goodness and save them.
- I am attached to a work that I love: to remove the sufferings of the poor and grant them what they lack.
- I rescue all who worship and adore Me.”
We will be happy, peaceful and fearless as we remember these divine words and march forward in our spiritual journey to realise our innate divinity.
In His divine discourse given on 17th May 1968, the First World Conference, Swami declared, “Obeying My instructions is enough: it will benefit you more than the most rigorous ascetism.”
The essence and summary of all His teachings is the following four divine commandments: Love All – Serve All. Help Ever – Hurt Never.
During this auspicious period, let us dive deep into these four Mahavakyas and practice them in our daily lives. Furthermore, let us intensify our efforts from 23rd October to 23rd November leading to His Birthday. Swami says three-fourths of spiritual life is self-enquiry. Let us be vigilant and conduct self-enquiry and self-audit as to how each one of us is practicing these commandments every day, and record our progress. God is omnipresent, hearing every word we speak and seeing everything we do.
I pray to Bhagawan to bless us with wisdom and strength so that we can practise His divine commandments implicitly and completely, with intensity and sincerity, to reach our goal.
