World Human Values Day
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Om Sri Sai Ram
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba said that peace in society can be attained only by each of us embracing the eternal and universal human values of truth, right conduct, peace, love and nonviolence. Therefore, for sustainable global peace and happiness, the practice of human values in our daily lives is most important.
Bhagawan Baba embodied the five human values. He often said, "Truth is what I speak. Right Conduct is what I do. Peace is My very nature. Love is My Form." Taking His example to heart, the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation will observe 24th April every year as “World Human Values Day” in grateful memory of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's life, legacy and teachings. We will celebrate this divine occasion by intensifying our practice of these five human values for our own salvation and the upliftment of our families, communities and the world.
These five values are verily the five life breaths of man. One who considers human values as his life-breath alone is a true human being. These five values are the fundamental powers of human life. Forgetting these fundamental powers, man relies more on worldly power. Our ancients realized that these five values are meant for the peace and prosperity of the world. Without understanding the significance of these values, one cannot understand humanness at all.

Let us express our gratitude to our loving Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba by conducting activities to promote the practice of human values all over the world. Activities may include Walk for Values; Sai Spiritual Education, music and drama programmes; study circles; service activities; talks; and public meetings, community engagements and interfaith programmes, which may be adapted to suit local customs and cultures.
Let us all join together to honour and cherish the legacy of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba by practising and sharing His teachings on human values and by His grace, may we realise our innate divinity and contribute to the upliftment of the entire world.
