In 2021, SSSIO held online celebrations of several festivals and events outlined below.

Akhanda Gayatri Chanting

The SSSIO hosted six 24-hour Akhanda Gayatri chantings during the months of February, April, June, August, October, and December. More than 100,000 people from around the world enjoyed the broadcasts which featured Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s divine Darshan, chanting the Gayatri mantra and His teachings.

Maha Shivaratri

SSSIO celebrated Maha Shivaratri during March 11-12, 2021, with 24 hours of uninterrupted devotional singing accompanied by beautiful videos of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and Veda chanting by devotees around the world.

 

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year 2021 was celebrated on February 13, 2021, with two web broadcasts of a colorful and inspiring program titled, Filial Piety Confers Great Happiness. Highlights of the program included Lion dance and Dragon dance, traditional Chinese music, a play, and inspiring talks relating to the program theme.

 

Aradhana Mahotsavam

SSSIO paid homage to Sri Sathya Sai Baba on April 24, 2021, with a presentation on His life, His message, and His works. Honoring the occasion, devotees around the world engaged in 30 days of intense spiritual practices.

 

Buddha Poornima

Buddha Poornima was observed on May 26, 2021, with a program themed, The Key to Real Happiness – Tri-Ratna Sharanam. The multi-cultural, multi-national presentation highlighted traditional Buddhist chants and songs, devotional songs, video about the famous Borobudur Temple, inspiring talks, and captivating dances and skits.

 

Guru Poornima

Sathya Sai devotees worldwide celebrated Guru Poornima by offering their love and gratitude to Lord Sai on July 24 and 25, 2021, through an online program titled, Experiencing Divinity: The Nine Forms of Devotion. The program highlighted the nine forms of devotion emphasized by Swami. Presentations by children, ladies, and young adults explained the theme through various innovative art forms, talks, and devotional elements.

 

Avatar Declaration Day

In 2021the SSSIO initiated a new inspirational online series titled SAI (Service – Adoration – Illumination). Through this initiative, participants enjoyed the inspiring programs that share Sri Sathya Sai Baba's love, message, and works by highlighting the activities, practices, and culture from 110 countries of the SSSIO worldwide.

The SAI Series launched with a riveting production by SSSIO Zone 4 (Southeast Asia) on October 22 and October 23, 2021, in commemoration of the holy occasion of Avatar Declaration Day.

 

Worldwide Akhanda Bhajan

The SSSIO organized a 36-hr worldwide online Akhanda Bhajan (continuous devotional singing) during November 12–14, 2021. Sri Sathya Sai devotees from many countries around the world sang devotional songs in many different languages, expressing their love for Swami and filling the atmosphere with divine vibrations.

 

Ladies Day

Sri Sathya Sai Baba initiated Ladies Day celebrations to emphasize to the whole world the crucial role of women in society. To celebrate Ladies Day, the SSSIO hosted an online program themed, Women are the Beacons of Nations on November 18th and 19th. The program consisted of a theme song, testimonials of devotees’ experiences and spiritual transformation, a report of service activities undertaken by women, opera, a children's skit, and devotional singing in many languages.

 

96th Birthday

SSSIO celebrated the 96th Birthday of Bhagawan Baba, with an online program titled, Divine Love is the Power and the Way, on November 20, 2021. The two-hour program consisting of melodious musical presentations, beautiful drama, inspiring speakers, and nice children's play, took the viewers on a journey through the stages of love, from understanding to practicing and finally to realizing it. The SSSIO also released the 2020 Annual Report summarizing the programs, initiatives and a wide range of service activities carried out by the membership of SSSIO around the world during 2020.

 

Christmas

Christmas was celebrated joyously on December 25, 2021 with a presentation titled The Divine Life of Jesus Christ. The program highlighted the life of Jesus Christ, through music, dance, drama, and narration.
