As part of the Sathya Sai International Organisation’s (SSIO) initiative to adopt 95 community projects in celebration of the 95th anniversary of Sathya Sai Baba’s birth, the SSIO of Greece commissioned the construction of a primary school in the remote village of Ibanga Tudun Wada, in Niger State, Nigeria, where there is a shortage of basic social amenities and infrastructures, including drinking water, medical care and schools.

The new school, named the Dalla School, took two months to complete and hosts three classrooms equipped with desks and chairs for 90 pupils and two staff rooms.

At the opening ceremony, after officers  from the SSIO of Greece expressed their hope that the school will be a beacon for human values education, the 90 pupils received pencils, t-shirts, hats and sweets in preparation for their first class.

At the end of the ceremony, everyone gathered there joyfully called out, “NAGODE ALLAH!” – I thank God.
