Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Om Sri Sai Ram.

As members of the Organisation that bears the holy name of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we strive to follow the law of the land, and the guidelines set by the Prasanthi Council and the SSIO Committees. In the past, we have urged all SSIO Zones, Countries, Committees, Centres and Groups to ensure that we do not violate copyright requirements by using copyrighted songs, pictures or audio/video clips in presentations in Prasanthi Nilayam or other venues, without prior authorisation and approval.

When Radio Sai broadcasts presentations containing copyright-protected content from the Sai Kulwant Hall (music, songs or chants composed and recorded by professionals, stock images or video) it receives a copyright infringement notice from YouTube. This has happened recently. Henceforth, it is strictly prohibited to use copyrighted material such as songs, voice recordings, instrumental background score, instrumental music, symphony, video clips, photos or other media products in dramas, musical and cultural programs, or speeches and other presentations in Sai Kulwant Hall. Further details are available in the attached circular issued by Radio Sai recently.

We urge all SSIO leaders responsible for offering programs at the Divine Lotus Feet of Bhagawan in Prasanthi Nilayam to ensure that they carefully review their audio/video material to ensure that no part of it is copyrighted or protected as Intellectual Property. The SSIO Intellectual Property Committee, Information Technology Committee and the Media Committee will be implementing this requirement and request your kind cooperation and active oversight to make sure that we protect Bhagawan’s sacred name and do not commit unlawful acts of commission or omission by copyright infringement. We should also follow the same procedure for all events held by the SSIO at local, country, zonal, and international levels.

Thank You.

With loving regards,

Anupom Ganguli, PhD, Chairman, Media Committee

Venkat Sadanand, MD, PhD, Chairman, IT Committee
